Ondatrópica

Ondatrópica represents a vibrant fusion of Colombian musicianship and global musical perspectives, spearheaded by British producer and musician Will Holland, also known as Quantic, and Colombian musician, arranger, and producer Mario Galeano, the force behind the Bogotá-based band Frente Cumbiero. Formed in 2012, Ondatrópica brings together an esteemed ensemble of Colombian artists, both legendary and emerging, to celebrate and reinterpret the tropical musical heritage of Colombia. With Holland and Galeano at the helm, the project aims to cross boundaries, embracing contemporary sounds all the while preserving the richness of traditional rhythms and styles such as cumbia, salsa, and currulao.

The collective's self-titled debut album, "Ondatrópica," released in 2012 and followed by a deluxe version, was met with critical acclaim for its innovative approach and dynamic range, bridging generations and genres. Subsequent releases like "Noche de Amor," "Baile Bucanero," and singles such as "Chop 'n' Quench" and "Punkero Sonidero," further showcase the group's ability to create fresh, vibrant soundscapes while staying true to the roots of Colombian music. Ondatrópica is particularly known for their lively and spontaneous live performances, which often feel like a celebration of Colombia's rich musical culture with a modern twist, appealing to a broad audience worldwide.
