Vito Lo Re

Vito Lo Re is an accomplished Italian composer and conductor born in Milan. He studied composition under Silvia Bianchera and Bruno Bettinelli, classical guitar with Rocco Peruggini, and choral music and choir conducting with Franco Monego, graduating from the "G. Verdi" Conservatory of Music in Milan. Additionally, he studied orchestral conducting with notable maestros such as Massimiliano Caldi, Bruno Rigacci, and Erwin Acel, among others, and holds a degree in Political Science.

Lo Re has a rich career that spans conducting over 30 operas and operettas internationally in countries including Italy, Austria, Canada, and the Czech Republic, as well as composing music for theatre, television, documentaries, and films. He is well known for his collaborations with writer and director Donato Carrisi on multiple projects, including film scores for internationally distributed movies like *La ragazza nella nebbia* (The Girl in the Fog) and *L'uomo del labirinto* (Into the Labyrinth), the latter featuring actors Toni Servillo and Dustin Hoffman. His music is noted for its rich textures and suspenseful, haunting qualities, making him a respected name in contemporary film music. Beyond classical and film music, Lo Re is also active as an orchestrator and arranger in pop and rock, having worked with artists such as Arisa, Edoardo Bennato, Mario Biondi, and members of the Elton John Band.
