Mac Wiseman was a legendary bluegrass and country singer known for his smooth tenor voice and storytelling lyrics. Born in 1925 in Virginia, Wiseman first gained recognition as a member of Bill Monroe’s Blue Grass Boys before launching a successful solo career. His ability to blend bluegrass, folk, and country influences earned him the nickname “The Voice with a Heart.” Over a career spanning more than seven decades, he recorded classics like “Jimmy Brown the Newsboy” and “Love Letters in the Sand,” leaving a lasting impact on American roots music. Wiseman was also a founding member of the Country Music Association and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
