Godley & Creme

Godley & Creme were an English musical duo composed of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, both former members of the art-pop band 10cc. After leaving 10cc in 1976, the pair embarked on an adventurous creative path, releasing a series of experimental and eclectic albums that pushed the boundaries of pop music. Their work often blended complex vocal arrangements, innovative production techniques, and a quirky sense of humor, as heard on albums such as *L* (1978) and *Freeze Frame* (1979), which featured the hit “An Englishman in New York.”

Beyond their own recordings, Godley & Creme became renowned for their pioneering work in music video production during the 1980s, directing iconic videos for artists like Duran Duran, The Police, and Herbie Hancock. Their innovative approach to visual storytelling cemented their legacy not just as musicians, but as influential visual artists in the MTV era. While their musical output came to a close in the late '80s, their impact on both music and video production remains widely recognized.
