Selve

Selve is a dynamic six-piece band led by Loki Liddle, a proud Jabirr Jabirr man, known for blending fierce storytelling with raw rock energy. Their groundbreaking album *Breaking Into Heaven*—the first full-length album by an Aboriginal artist recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London—showcases their mix of post-punk grit, psychedelic vibes, and indie pop nuances. The band’s music is deeply rooted in First Nations culture and stories, with their sound shaped by experiences on Jabirr Jabirr Country, residencies in France and the Gold Coast, and a defiant celebration of reclaiming narrative through art.

With Loki on lead vocals and guitar, Selve includes Reece Bowden (lead guitar), Creation Saffigna (vocals), Michael Baldi (drums), Scott French (bass), and Liam Kirk (keyboards). They have performed at notable festivals such as SXSW Sydney, BIGSOUND, and Woodford Folk Festival, continuing to gain recognition as one of Australia’s most powerful new voices in music. Their style is theatrical and unapologetically joyful, with tracks like “Loki Horror Picture Show” embodying a blend of satire, self-discovery, and punk rebellion.
