Duo Rey Silva

Dúo Rey-Silva was a legendary Chilean folk music duo formed by Alberto Rey (harp and vocals) and Sergio Silva (guitar and vocals). Active from 1935 until 1991, they became iconic figures in Chilean music, especially known for their masterful interpretations of traditional genres like the cueca and tonada. Their work was deeply influential in the golden era of Chilean bohemia from the 1940s through the 1960s, and they contributed significantly to early Chilean musical cinema. Over their lengthy career, they toured extensively across Latin America and the United States and collaborated with other prominent artists of the time, making a lasting impact on Chile's musical heritage.

With more than fifty years of activity, Dúo Rey-Silva remains celebrated for preserving and popularizing Chilean folk traditions. Alberto Rey's virtuosic harp skills and the duo’s warm harmonies are central to their enduring legacy. Their albums like "Las Mejores Cuecas," "35 Años de Cueca," and simply "Cuecas" showcase their rich repertoire and continue to be cherished by folk music fans today.
