Vanessa Van Basten

Vanessa Van Basten is an experimental post-rock project from Genoa, Italy, led by guitarist and composer Morgan Bellini. Their music weaves together heavy, slow-moving guitar textures with ambient and cinematic elements, creating a sound that's often described as dark, atmospheric, and emotionally charged. Although initially formed as a duo, Vanessa Van Basten has operated more like a collective over the years, with a rotating cast of collaborators adding layers to their richly textured recordings.

Emerging in the mid-2000s, the group quickly gained attention with their debut EP and full-length album La Stanza Di Swedenborg, both praised for their brooding mood and expansive soundscapes. Releases like Closer to the Small/Dark/Door and Psygnosis continued to explore and evolve their distinctive mix of shoegaze, drone, and metallic post-rock influences, earning them a dedicated following in underground music circles.
