Rostam Batmanglij, known mononymously as Rostam, is an American songwriter, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist of Iranian heritage. He first came into the limelight as a member of the indie rock band Vampire Weekend, contributing largely to the unique sound that earned the band critical and commercial success. Rostam's work with Vampire Weekend helped them secure a Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album for their sophomore effort, "Contra." In 2016, he announced his departure from the band to focus on solo projects and collaborations with other artists.

As a solo artist, Rostam has cultivated a style that is both exploratory and deeply personal, pressing the boundaries of indie pop with his genre-blending compositions. His debut album "Half-Light," released in 2017, showcased his eclectic approach and intimate songwriting. It was followed by a series of works that highlight his versatility, from the "Half-Light Remixes: EP1" to acoustic renditions and the introspective full-length album "Changephobia" in 2021. Along with his original productions, Rostam has become revered for his remixing abilities as seen in the "Changephobia Remixes" series, and his collaborative spirit remains strong through various remixes for other artists, such as his interpretation shared in "Note to Self (Rostam Remix)." As an influential figure in modern indie music, Rostam continues to evolve, pushing his sound into new territories while maintaining a distinctive voice that resonates with a growing audience.
