THE ALFEE

THE ALFEE is a legendary Japanese rock band that first formed in the 1970s and has become one of Japan’s longest-running and most beloved musical acts. Originally starting out as a folk trio under the name Alfie, the group evolved their sound dramatically over the decades, incorporating elements of hard rock, pop, and symphonic rock into their music. Known for their tight vocal harmonies, dynamic guitar work, and elaborate live performances, THE ALFEE consists of three core members: Takamizawa Toshihiko, Sakazaki Kohnosuke, and Sakurai Masaru.

Over the years, THE ALFEE has built a massive discography and a devoted fan base, releasing dozens of albums and singles that showcase their versatility and staying power in the ever-changing music landscape. They’re known not only for their musical chops but also for their unique stage presence—Takamizawa, for instance, is famous for his flamboyant outfits and custom-designed guitars. Their ability to combine musical sophistication with theatrical flair has helped them stay relevant and respected for nearly five decades.
