Grinspoon is an Australian rock band hailing from Lismore, New South Wales, formed in 1995. The group consists of Phil Jamieson (vocals/rhythm guitar), Pat Davern (lead guitar), Joe Hansen (bass), and Kristian Hopes (drums). Named after Dr. Lester Grinspoon, a notable advocate for marijuana decriminalization, the band established their footprint in the Australian rock scene with their raw, energetic, and unapologetic sound. Initially gaining recognition for their track "Sickfest" on the national radio station Triple J's Unearthed competition, Grinspoon's gritty and punchy approach quickly earned them a dedicated following.

Over the span of their career, Grinspoon released several albums that became staples in the Australian rock genre. Their debut album, "Guide To Better Living" (1997), set a strong foundation for the band, followed by works such as "Easy" (1999) and "New Detention" (2002), further cementing their status in the early 2000s.
