Peter Frampton is an English rock musician, singer, songwriter, and producer whose career was catapulted into the stratosphere with his live album "Frampton Comes Alive!" in 1976. Born on April 22, 1950, in Bromley, Kent, Frampton was a prodigious young guitarist, first finding fame with The Herd and then as a co-founder of Humble Pie. However, it was his solo work that gave him icon status, particularly with hits like "Show Me the Way" and "Baby, I Love Your Way."
Frampton's ability to appeal to a vast audience has been bolstered by his distinctive use of the talk box and his melodic rock guitar riffs. Despite facing several ups and downs throughout his long career – including the 1980s which presented fewer commercial successes – Frampton has remained a revered figure in the rock music scene. His later albums, such as the Grammy Award-winning instrumental album "Fingerprints" (2006) and the blues-infused "All Blues" (2019), showcase his versatility and continued dedication to his craft. In recent years, despite battling inclusion body myositis, a degenerative muscle disease, Frampton has continued to record and perform, including a farewell tour and the release of "Peter Frampton Forgets The Words" (2021), a collection of instrumental covers that further solidifies his status as a masterful guitarist and a resilient, expressive artist.
