Yvonne Moore is a Swiss singer and bandleader originally from Schaffhausen. She's been active in the music scene for over 25 years, known for her powerful soul voice. Moore has recorded numerous albums of her own music and frequently collaborates with American musician Mat Callahan. Together, they've released albums like "Working-Class Heroes: A History of Struggle in Song" and "It Is Right to Rebel," which blend folk, blues, and politically conscious lyrics.
In addition to her musical career, Moore is co-founder and treasurer of the Art in History and Politics Association. This organization aims to discover, publish, and popularize music, graphic art, and texts created by participants in historical conflicts, such as the struggle to abolish slavery. Her work often explores themes of social justice and working-class struggles, as evidenced by her recent releases like "The War Against Forgetting" and "99 Books (George Jackson)."
