The Kanneh-Masons

The Kanneh-Masons are a remarkable family of classically trained musicians from Nottingham, England, known for their exceptional talent and collaborative performances. Comprising seven siblings—Isata, Braimah, Sheku, Konya, Jeneba, Aminata, and Mariatu—they have captivated audiences worldwide with their unique blend of classical and contemporary repertoire. Each sibling plays a different instrument, and together they bring a fresh and soulful approach to everything from Saint-Saëns and Bob Marley to traditional folk songs.

Sheku Kanneh-Mason first gained wide recognition after winning the BBC Young Musician of the Year award in 2016, becoming the first Black musician to do so. He later captivated millions with his cello performance at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. The family has since released several ensemble recordings, including "Carnival" and works featuring arrangements of classical and popular music. With their infectious energy and deep musicality, the Kanneh-Masons continue to make classical music more accessible and inspiring for audiences everywhere.
