Totally Insane

Totally Insane is an influential hip hop duo from East Palo Alto, California, that etched its mark in the West Coast rap scene in the early '90s. Comprised of rappers Ad Kapone and Scoot Dogg (also known as Mac-10), the group became known for their raw lyrical content and authentic portrayal of the trials and tribulations of street life. Their musical style fused together funk-based beats and gritty narratives that resonated with the reality of their surroundings, contributing to the era's emergent gangsta rap genre.

The duo's discography boasts a collection of albums that captured the essence of their experiences and environment. Their debut album "Direct From The Backstreet" hit the streets in 1992, laying the groundwork for their signature sound. This was followed by "Back Street Life" in 1993 and "Goin' Insane" in 1995, both of which solidified their standing within the hip-hop community for their honest depictions of the California gang culture. Their self-titled album "Totally Insane" was released in 1995 and is often celebrated as a classic by their fans. After a hiatus, the group made a strong return with "Da Game Of Life" in 1998, which continued to showcase their evolution as artists while staying true to their roots. Even though they never broke into the mainstream, Totally Insane remains a respected name among the aficionados of Bay Area hip hop.
