Enayet Hossain

Enayet Hossain is a talented tabla player with deep roots in Indian classical music. Born in Bangladesh but raised in the United States, Enayet comes from a respected musical family spanning three generations. He learned tabla from his father, Ustad Hamid Hossain, a renowned music teacher. Enayet started performing with top Indian musicians at just 17 years old and has since featured on over 40 album recordings.

While skilled in traditional North Indian classical styles, Enayet has also ventured into fusion music. In 2013, he founded the Indian-Jazz fusion group Melodic Intersect, which has received Grammy consideration and chart success. Enayet combines his musical talents with technology, having created Sangeetpedia, a multimedia encyclopedia of Indian music. He's recognized for his contributions to promoting Indian music in American culture and is an active voting member of the Recording Academy for the Grammy Awards.
