Pulling Teeth formed in Baltimore in 2005 and quickly made a name for themselves in the hardcore and extreme metal scene with a raw, aggressive sound that drew from influences like Integrity and Left for Dead. The band was spearheaded by vocalist Mike Riley and guitarist Dom Romeo, who helped shape their metallic hardcore edge, marked by heavy riffs, relentless energy, and a strong connection to the underground DIY ethos.
Active through early 2012, Pulling Teeth left a lasting legacy with albums such as *Vicious Skin* (2006), *Martyr Immortal* (2007), and *Funerary* (2011), as well as a series of acclaimed splits and EPs. Known for their intense live shows and collaborative projects—including releases with Dwid Hellion of Integrity—Pulling Teeth remained a standout force in the Baltimore hardcore community and beyond. Their music continues to be celebrated by fans of uncompromising, emotionally charged hardcore.
