Theodore Kerkezos

Theodore Kerkezos is a renowned Greek classical saxophonist known for his mastery of the entire repertoire for saxophone and orchestra. He graduated with honors from Babis Farantatos's class at the Athens Conservatory before continuing his studies in Bordeaux with Jean-Marie Londeix and in Paris with Daniel Deffayet. Kerkezos has had the privilege of performing alongside illustrious orchestras such as the London Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the Berliner Symphoniker. His performances have taken place at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. He is also a professor at the Athens Conservatory and has given masterclasses at prestigious institutions worldwide. His recordings have garnered significant recognition, including two Grammy nominations.

Kerkezos has been honored with works dedicated to him by notable composers like Iannis Xenakis and Mikis Theodorakis. Additionally, he has collaborated with Alphonse Leduc Editions, promoting new saxophone repertoire since 1999. Some of his notable recordings include *Legende: French Works for Saxophone and Orchestra*, *Music for Saxophone and Orchestra*, and *Ballades for Saxophone and Orchestra*. His contributions have earned him numerous awards and distinctions, cementing his status as one of the finest classical saxophonists today.
