Origami Ghosts

Origami Ghosts is the musical project of John Paul Scesniak, a Seattle-based musician, teacher, and artist, who has been crafting warm, soulful, and melodic folk-rock music since 2004. The project started when Scesniak teamed up with hammered dulcimer player Joel Hanson, evolving over time with a revolving cast of talented collaborators. Their sound blends influences from folk, pop, R&B, hip-hop, and rock into a unique, energetic style often described as indie-pop with a punk ethos. Over the years, Origami Ghosts have performed widely in the US, Europe, and Asia and have released numerous albums including "Healthy Travel Potions" and their latest, "Virtual Reality Boy".

Scesniak’s songwriting often integrates his spiritual leanings and experiences from traveling, creating music described as both experimental and poppy with a quirky, mystical edge. The band, now centered around Scesniak and keyboardist Cassandra Wulff, embraces a fluid lineup to keep their sound fresh and dynamic. Their work has drawn praise for its originality and engaging live shows, capturing an eclectic, heartfelt vibe that invites listeners into a diverse musical world.
