Winds of Plague

Winds of Plague is an American symphonic deathcore band that emerged from Upland, California, and has been pummeling the metal scene since their inception in 2002. The band's name, inspired by a lyric from the Unearth song "Endless," evokes the destructive and dramatic elements that they musically incorporate. Winds of Plague distinguishes themselves within the deathcore genre by infusing their heavy, aggressive sound with symphonic and classic horror-influenced arrangements, creating a unique blend that has resonated with fans worldwide.

The brainchild of vocalist Johnny Plague, Winds of Plague's powerful and theatrical style is showcased across a discography that has evolved over the years while maintaining a fierce intensity. Their 2008 breakthrough album "Decimate the Weak," whose title track was re-released in a 2018 version, put them on the map with its brutal riffs and cinematic orchestration. Following albums like "The Great Stone War" (2009), "Against the World" (2011), and "Resistance" (2013) have delivered a series of anthemic tracks, such as "Never Alone" and "Kings Of Carnage," that explore apocalyptic themes and human struggles. "Blood of My Enemy" (2017) continued to solidify their reputation, proving that Winds of Plague's capacity to marry the devastating with the dramatic remains unmatched in their corner of the metal realm.
