Vivien Ellis is a singer, community choir leader, music researcher, and trainer based in the UK, known for her inclusive approach to group singing and her commitment to connecting people through music. Raised on a smallholding in Essex, Ellis has always been passionate about vocal expression and now leads free, open singing groups for wellbeing, including regular sessions at The Dragon Café in Southwark and various groups in the London Borough of Hillingdon. She collaborates with artists across music, arts, and science, performs early and folk music in the duo Alva with Giles Lewin, and has worked with groups like Sinfonye and The Dufay Collective. Ellis is also involved in arts and health research as an Associate of The Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health, developing training for health professionals and supporting arts in social prescribing.
She is the artist behind recent releases such as The Dawn Songs, Miracles, and Old English Nursery Rhymes, drawing on her expertise in traditional and early music to create both recordings and community events.
