Morten Harket

Morten Harket is best known as the lead singer of the famed Norwegian synth-pop band, a-ha. Born on September 14, 1959, in Kongsberg, Norway, Harket's exceptional vocal range and distinctive voice have played a pivotal role in the band's international success, most notably with their hit single "Take On Me" in 1985. Throughout his career, Harket has also pursued solo endeavors, showcasing his talent beyond the signature sound of a-ha.

After achieving monumental success with a-ha in the 1980s and 90s, Morten Harket transitioned to focus on his solo work, particularly after the band's initial disbandment in the mid-'90s. His solo albums explore a variety of themes and showcase his evolution as a musician. "Wild Seed," released in 1995, became one of his most successful solo records, establishing Harket as a credible artist outside of his band's fame. With subsequent albums such as "Vogts Villa" and "Poetenes Evangelium," he displayed a penchant for deeply personal and reflective music, often delving into his Norwegian roots and showcasing his fluency in Norwegian with the latter album composed entirely of songs using lyrics from Norwegian poets. The album "Kamilla Og Tyven" is the soundtrack to the Norwegian film of the same name, illustrating his capability to move within different aspects of the music and entertainment industry. His album "Brother," which was released in both 2014 and 2016, saw Harket continue to refine his craft, creating music characterized by poetic lyrics and mature pop melodies. More recently, his involvement with "A-ha Goes Classical (A Symphony Tribute)" has seen him and his bandmates reinterpret their classic hits with symphonic arrangements, reaffirming their place in the pantheon of pop music by bridging the gap between their nostalgic roots and contemporary interpretations.
