Spartan Jet-Plex is the music project of Nancy Grim Kells, a multifaceted artist known for their innovative and genre-bending sound. Kells' music often explores themes of personal loss and societal commentary, reflecting their experiences with depression and anxiety. Spartan Jet-Plex's discography includes albums like "Uncomfortable Quarters" and "Live," which showcase a unique blend of electronic and experimental elements with folk influences. Kells is also a recipient of a 2023 Songwriting Fellowship from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, highlighting their creative contributions to the music scene.

As a non-binary, agender, and queer artist, Kells is deeply involved in social justice and disability advocacy, particularly through their work with Grimalkin, a nonprofit that supports trans and queer musicians. Kells' background includes a BFA from Tyler School of Art and a MS in Special Education, with extensive experience as a teacher and vocational counselor. Their artistic endeavors span music, visual arts, and advocacy, making them a compelling figure in both the music and social justice communities.
