Headspace

Headspace is a progressive metal band distinguished by their intricate compositions and philosophical themes, born from the creative synergy of several already accomplished musicians. The band was originally formed in 2006 by keyboardist Adam Wakeman, son of the legendary Rick Wakeman of Yes, along with vocalist Damian Wilson, known for his work with Threshold and as a solo artist. They were joined by guitarist Pete Rinaldi, bassist Lee Pomeroy, and drummer Richard Brook, all seasoned performers with various other groups and projects.

The group's debut album, "I Am Anonymous," released in 2012, set the tone for their signature sound, which melds heavy, dynamic rhythms with layers of melodic sophistication and thought-provoking lyrical narratives. Their progression and growth were evident in their 2016 follow-up, "All That You Fear Is Gone," where Headspace continued to explore human consciousness and societal issues with even more complexity and depth. Despite not having widespread mainstream recognition, the group garnered a dedicated fan base in the progressive metal community, appreciative of their dedication to crafting meaningful and challenging music. The tracks "The Science Within Us" and "Lay Low" showcase the band's range, with the former exhibiting their capability for expansive, intricate arrangements, while the latter delves into more introspective, emotionally driven territory.
