Methods of Mayhem

Methods of Mayhem is an American rock band formed in 1999 by founding member and frontman Tommy Lee, who is best known as the drummer from the legendary heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. After leaving Mötley Crüe in 1999, Lee sought a new direction for his musical creativity and thus embarked on this project, which combines elements of various genres including rock, metal, rap, and electronic. The band's self-titled debut album, "Methods of Mayhem," was released in the same year and was marked by collaborations with other artists and the incorporation of a variety of musical styles, setting the tone for the fusion-inspired ethos of the band.

The group's follow-up project came more than a decade later with "A Public Disservice Announcement" in 2010, which involved an innovative and interactive approach, inviting the public to contribute to the album through an online platform. The album featured a blend of hard-hitting rock anthems and experimental tracks, displaying a matured sound and experimental approach to music creation. Methods of Mayhem's dynamic and crowd-sourced production process reflects Tommy Lee's commitment to both his rebellious roots and innovative musical exploration. Additional tracks like "Fight Song," "Time Bomb," "F.Y.U.," and "Drunk in Chicago" further showcased the band's gritty, energetic style and their knack for crafting memorable hooks amidst a backdrop of heavy riffs and electronic flourishes. Despite the infrequency of their releases, the band remains emblematic of a period in rock history where the genre's boundaries were pushed and remixed, leaving an enduring impression on its fans.
