Articles Of Faith

**Articles of Faith** were a blazing force in Chicago’s early ’80s hardcore punk scene, known for their breakneck speed, politically charged lyrics, and unrelenting energy. Formed in 1981 by vocalist Vic Bondi, the band channeled raw angst and social commentary into their music, standing out with a sound that blended punk ferocity with melodic undercurrents. Their discography, including the *Fortunate Son E.P.* (featuring a blistering CCR cover) and the *New Normal Catastrophe* compilation, captured their urgency and DIY ethos. Though short-lived, their influence rippled through the underground, with posthumous releases like *Complete Vol. 1* and *Vol. 2* preserving their legacy. Articles of Faith disbanded in 1985, but Bondi’s later projects kept their rebellious spirit alive. A foundational act for fans of hardcore’s golden era!
