House of Pain emerged from the early '90s Los Angeles hip hop scene, gaining international fame with their infectious anthem "Jump Around," from their self-titled debut album "House of Pain (Fine Malt Lyrics)" released in 1992. The group consists of frontman Everlast (Erik Schrody), Danny Boy (Daniel O'Connor), and DJ Lethal (Leor Dimant). Everlast's distinctive gravelly vocals, combined with their Irish-American flair, provided a unique edge and identity in the rap genre, fusing the grit of urban hip hop with a cultural lineage rooted in Irish pride, a theme woven throughout their music and imagery.

In their progression as artists, House of Pain followed up their successful debut with "Same As It Ever Was" in 1994, an album that solidified their place in hip hop with hits such as "On Point." However, they retained a cult-like status, always more recognized for their breakout hit. In 1996, they released "Truth Crushed To Earth Shall Rise Again," showing a tougher, more mature style, but that would be their last album as a group before disbanding. Despite their brief time together, House of Pain's legacy extended well beyond their years as a group, with their music regularly featured in film, television, and sporting events.
