Gathering Field

The Gathering Field is an American folk rock band that emerged from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania music scene in the early 1990s. Originally the brainchild of singer-songwriter Bill Deasy, the group quickly made a name for itself with its poignant storytelling and organic sound, rooted in classic rock traditions interspersed with touches of Americana and heartland rock. Their self-titled debut album, "The Gathering Field," released in 1994, offered a first glimpse into the band's melody-driven songcraft and lyrical depth, capturing the attention of listeners with its earnest and emotive narratives.

Over the years, The Gathering Field has maintained a dedicated following, particularly in the American Northeast, through a series of soul-stirring releases, including "Lost in America" (1996) and "Reliance" (2002), that showcase the band's evolution without straying from its core of heartfelt musicality. Their moving live performances, preserved in the album "We Are the Gathering Field (Live)," highlight the strong connection the band has with its audience and the passion they pour into every performance. With "Wild Journey" and "So Close to Home," The Gathering Field has continued to explore new sounds while staying true to the themes of love, life, and human connection that have always been central to their work, solidifying their reputation as enduring storytellers in the tapestry of American music.
