Liane Synek

Liane Synek was an Austrian operatic soprano born on September 17, 1922, in Vienna. She built a remarkable career primarily based in Germany, performing at major opera houses such as the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Staatsoper Berlin, and Cologne Opera. Known for her powerful dramatic roles, she excelled in parts like Beethoven's Fidelio, Wagner's Sieglinde, Brünnhilde, and Isolde, and also embraced contemporary works, notably premiering the role of Countess de la Roche in Zimmermann's *Die Soldaten* in 1965. She was celebrated for her versatile voice and strong stage presence, which led to guest appearances at prestigious venues including the Vienna State Opera and the Bayreuth Festival. Synek passed away on September 6, 1982, in Hollabrunn, Austria.
