Marcos Bárcena

Marcos Bárcena is a versatile musician from Santander, Cantabria, Spain, known for his work in both traditional folk music and as a singer-songwriter. With a career spanning over three decades, he has been incredibly active, performing numerous concerts across Spain and internationally in countries like France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, the UK, and the US. He has collaborated on more than forty albums as a solo artist and with various groups. Marcos co-founded influential folk groups such as Luétiga and Atlántica, which were pivotal in the folk scene of Cantabria. His musical influences range from traditional folk to rock and pop, with a notable admiration for Sir Paul McCartney.

Marcos Bárcena is also a multi-instrumentalist and has been recognized for his skill as a gaita player, winning awards at festivals like the Saint Chartier in France. Beyond music, he is involved in teaching and has been part of theatrical productions, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
