Chemical People

Chemical People were a punk band hailing from Los Angeles, California, that carved out their own niche within the punk rock scene during the late 80s and the 90s. They were known not only for their robust, melodic punk sound but also for their association with the prolific independent label, Cruz Records, which hosted several other notable punk acts of the time. Formed in 1986 by lead vocalist and guitarist Dave Nazworthy, along with Ed Urlik (bass), Jaime Pina (guitar), and Mike Bernarding (drums), Chemical People soon established themselves with a straightforward, energetic style and a knack for crafting catchy, punchy riffs.

Over the years, Chemical People released numerous albums and EPs, showcasing an evolving sound that stayed true to their punk roots while incorporating elements of power pop and even hard rock. Their most recent retrospectives, "Demos 1986-1996," "The Singles," and "The Right Thing," are testimony to the band's enduring legacy, featuring a collection of raw materials that provide insight into their songwriting process, their most celebrated songs in a compact format, and their consistent pursuit of musical integrity, respectively. Although they may no longer be active, Chemical People left a lasting mark on the underground punk scene with their irreverent approach, both in their music and in their often humorous and satirical lyrics.
