Emma Pollock

Emma Pollock is a Scottish singer-songwriter best known as a founding member of the critically acclaimed indie rock band The Delgados. After the band split in 2005, she launched a successful solo career marked by thoughtful lyrics, distinctive vocals, and a blend of melancholy and melodic hooks. Her solo debut, Watch the Fireworks (2007), showcased her ability to craft deeply personal and resonant songs, and she continued to evolve with albums like The Law of Large Numbers (2010) and In Search of Harperfield (2016), the latter drawing heavily from family history and themes of memory.

Beyond her recording career, Emma has been actively involved in the Scottish music scene and co-founded the influential Glasgow-based label Chemikal Underground Records, which helped foster many notable acts. Her songwriting blends sharp storytelling with a warm, textured sound, establishing her as a respected and enduring voice in UK indie music.
