Oregon

Oregon, an American jazz and world music group, was formed in 1970 and has since etched their unique signature in the realms of eclectic, instrumental music. The ensemble's core members, Ralph Towner (guitar, piano), Paul McCandless (woodwinds), Glen Moore (bass), and initially Collin Walcott (percussion), later replaced by Trilok Gurtu, and then Mark Walker, seamlessly blend a diverse array of instruments and influences, from classical to jazz to world music, producing a sound that defies categorical confines.

Oregon's music is renowned for its organic fusion, improvisational eloquence, and the sophisticated interplay between its members. Albums like "Fue Sin Querer," "Lantern," and "Always, Never, And Forever" exhibit their rich storytelling through instruments, while "Live at Yoshi's" and "Oregon in Moscow" capture the enchanting energy of their live performances. Throughout their decades-long career, which includes over 30 albums, Oregon has remained a pioneering force that continuously explores the interstice between structured composition and the liberating realms of improvisational jazz, earning a deeply devoted international audience and affirming their status as masters of their craft.
