Clara y Mario are a Cuban musical duo formed by Clara Morales and Mario Rodríguez. They began singing together from a young age, growing up in the town of Regla, where they were neighbors. Clara was born on November 7, 1930, and Mario on March 13, 1934. The duo gained recognition for interpreting works by Cuban authors, particularly Juan Arrondo. They made their debut on television in 1961 and went on to perform across Cuba, including on TV and at various festivals. Clara and Mario recorded numerous albums, featuring songs like "Si en un final" and "Y es verdad." Unfortunately, Clara passed away on May 12, 1980, at the age of 50, marking the end of the duo's collaborative career.
Their music is characterized by a romantic style, with Mario often taking the central voice and Clara harmonizing with a professional touch. Their legacy includes albums such as "Epoca de Oro" and "Antologia Cubana: Clara y Mario," which showcase their contribution to Cuban music.
