Sweet Sensation was a female dance-music trio hailing from the Bronx, New York. Emerging from the vibrant freestyle music scene in the mid-1980s, the group was originally formed as a quartet and was one of the few all-female ensembles of the time. Their music, a blend of Latin freestyle, dance-pop, and R&B, captured the exuberant spirit of the late '80s and early '90s club culture. Sweet Sensation found significant success with the release of their debut album "Take It While It's Hot" in 1988, which featured hits such as "Hooked on You", "Never Let You Go", and the eponymous track "Take It While It's Hot".
Continuing their momentum, Sweet Sensation released their second album, "Love Child," in 1990. With this album, they veered slightly towards mainstream pop, which broadened their appeal. The title track, a cover of Diana Ross & The Supremes' hit, proved to be one of Sweet Sensation's most successful songs, showcasing the group's harmonic versatility and dance-inducing style. Later, tapping into the evolving remix culture, the group released "Time To Jam! [The Remix Album]" which presented new versions of their previous hits tailored for the club scene and diehard fans. Despite undergoing several lineup changes over the years, Sweet Sensation left a lasting mark on the freestyle genre with their catchy melodies, vibrant performances, and the legacy of paving the way for subsequent all-female music groups.
