She began her career on the Cuban stage in the early 1950s, performing roles such as Siebel in *Faust* alongside Ann Ayers and Eugene Conley in 1953, and singing in *Bastien und Bastienne* by Mozart in 1954. Her career flourished primarily in Italy during the 1960s, where she was a member of the "Opera da Camera di Milano." She performed notable roles like Proserpina in Monteverdi's *L'Orfeo* and Fenena in Verdi's *Nabucco*. Carral's voice is documented in numerous opera recordings, mainly from 1962 to 1967. She also appeared in television adaptations, including the title role in *Madama Butterfly* for Cuban television in 1960.
Carral's repertoire included performances at various Italian stages and concert halls, where she sang arias by Mozart, Galuppi, Scarlatti, and Schubert's lieder.
