Jean-Claude Malgoire was a French conductor and oboist known for his work in the field of early music. He founded the ensemble La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy in 1972, which specialized in the performance of Baroque and Classical music on period instruments. Malgoire was a pioneer in the revival of historically informed performance practices, and his recordings and performances helped to popularize early music with a wider audience. He was also a dedicated educator, and he taught at the Paris Conservatory and the Juilliard School.
