Judy Holliday was an American actress, comedian, and singer who rose to fame in the 1940s and 1950s. Born Judith Tuvim in New York City in 1921, she began her career as a nightclub performer before making her Broadway debut in 1945. Holliday's breakout role came in the 1950 film "Born Yesterday," for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress. She continued to star in films and on television throughout the 1950s, becoming known for her comedic timing and sharp wit. Holliday died of cancer in 1965 at the age of 43.
