Kristine Heebøll

Kristine Heebøll is a Danish violinist and composer deeply rooted in folk music, known for her work with the ensemble Trio Mio since their 2004 debut. As an associate professor at the Danish National Academy of Music’s folk department, she’s been a driving force in both performance and education, earning a Danish Music Award for Composer of the Year in 2019. Her projects like *Bølgen* (New Dance Music for Ball) and collaborative releases such as *Pernambuk* showcase her dedication to reimagining Danish traditional music through inventive compositions and cross-genre experimentation. With Trio Mio, she’s toured internationally, blending Scandinavian folk traditions with contemporary flair across hundreds of concerts worldwide.
