Short Stack is an Australian punk-pop band that garnered significant fame in the late 2000s and early 2010s with their energetic anthems and emotional ballads that resonated with a youthful audience. Formed in 2005 in Budgewoi, New South Wales, the original lineup consisted of Shaun Diviney (lead vocals and guitar), Andy Clemmensen (bass and backing vocals), and Bradie Webb (drums and keyboards). The trio quickly rose to prominence in Australia's music scene with their debut album, "Stack Is the New Black" (2009), which peaked at number one on the ARIA charts. The album showcased their penchant for catchy hooks and a bold pop-punk sound.
After experiencing a whirlwind of early success, including releasing their follow-up album "This Is Bat Country" (2010), Short Stack faced a hiatus and went on to pursue individual projects before reuniting. They have since made a comeback with their matured sound, as reflected in their recent releases like "Maybe There's No Heaven" and "Sunshine." Although their style has evolved over the years, the band's raw energy and distinct blend of pop-punk and rock elements continue to be a hallmark of their music. Even with their acoustic renditions, like "Live4 (Acoustic)" and "Burn You Down (Acoustic)," they manage to preserve the emotive edge that has characterized Short Stack throughout their career.
