Audio Karate

Audio Karate is an American punk rock band hailing from Rosemead, California, that has been capturing the hearts of punk aficionados since their formation in the late 1990s. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Arturo Barrios, guitarist Jason Camacho, bassist Justo Gonzalez, and drummer Gabriel Camacho. They first made a significant splash in the punk scene with their energetic debut album "Space Camp" in 2002, followed by the well-received "Lady Melody" in 2004, which showcased their ability to weave intricate guitar work with emotive lyrics.

Known for their melodic punk sound that incorporates both the vigor of punk rock and the sensitivity of emo, Audio Karate took an extended hiatus after the release of "Lady Melody" but made an impactful return in 2019 with their album "Malo," a collection that had been in the works for years but shelved due to their break. Their recent releases, including a blend of acoustic renditions like "Car Ride Home (Justo's Version)" and "Drama Club Romance (Acoustic)," as well as tracks with a more assertive punk flair such as "No Te Preocupes" and "¡Otra!," exhibit the band's versatility and enduring appeal within the punk genre. Audio Karate continues to celebrate their roots while demonstrating growth and depth in their music, bridging nostalgia with fresh, heartfelt material.
