Muriel Cantoreggi is a French-born classical violinist known for her remarkable skill and deep dedication to chamber music and contemporary repertoire. She grew up in Luxembourg and pursued advanced violin studies in Paris under Régis Pasquier, in Utrecht with Wiktor Liberman, and completed her training in Berlin at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule with Christoph Poppen. Throughout her career, she has held prestigious positions such as concertmaster of the Munich Chamber Orchestra and has collaborated with leading conductors and musicians, including Heinz Holliger and clarinetist Jörg Widmann.
Cantoreggi has a strong commitment to chamber music and contemporary works, often performing in ensembles and duos, notably with violist Geneviève Strosser. She features on ECM Records with recordings like Barry Guy’s "Folio" and Frank Martin’s "Polyptyque," highlighting her versatility and artistry in modern and classical repertoire. Since 2009, she has been sharing her expertise as a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, nurturing the next generation of violinists while continuing an active performance career.
