Viogression

**Viogression** was a death metal band hailing from Michigan, active primarily in the early 1990s. Emerging from the Midwest’s underground metal scene, they gained traction with their raw, aggressive sound rooted in old-school death metal. Their debut album, *Expound and Exhort* (1991), became a cult favorite for its relentless riffing and guttural vocals, showcasing a style reminiscent of early Death and Obituary. Despite lineup shifts and the challenges of the era’s niche scene, Viogression left a mark with their unapologetically brutal approach.

The band disbanded in the mid-’90s but reunited in 2010 with original members, including vocalist/guitarist Tony Tite and bassist Brian Klingbell. This revival led to *3rd Stage of Decay* (2013), a comeback album that channeled their classic sound while nodding to modern production. Releases like *Execution (Demo)* and *A Pure Formality* highlight their commitment to unfiltered, technical death metal.
