Eddie Hardin was a British rock and blues keyboardist, singer, and songwriter best known for his work with The Spencer Davis Group and his collaboration with drummer Pete York in the duo Hardin & York. After replacing Steve Winwood in Spencer Davis Group in the late 1960s, Hardin brought a soulful, keyboard-driven sound to the band before moving on to form his own projects. Hardin & York gained a reputation for dynamic live performances and were often dubbed the "world’s smallest big band" due to their rich sound as a duo.
In addition to his group work, Hardin pursued a solo career and recorded a number of albums that showcased his versatile songwriting and musicianship, blending rock, jazz, and blues influences. One of his more notable solo works was the rock opera "Wind in the Willows," inspired by the classic children's book. Throughout his career, Eddie Hardin remained an active figure in the British rock scene, known for his expressive Hammond organ playing and emotive vocal style.
