Los Barón de Apodaca is a vibrant Mexican music group formed in 1978 in Apodaca, Nuevo León. The band consists of six members and has been active in the music scene with a few breaks, specifically from 1978 to 1995 and then resuming in 1999. Their music spans genres such as cumbia, grupero, bolero, and ranchera, showcasing a rich blend of traditional and contemporary styles. The group's original members include Ubaldo Suárez as the vocalist, Arturo Valadez on vocals and percussion, Salomón Guajardo on keyboards, Javier Cantú on guitar, Efraín Flores on bass (until his passing in 2017), and Juan Francisco Martínez on drums. Los Barón de Apodaca gained popularity with hits like "Y por Esa Calle Vive," which became a radio sensation in the early 1980s. They have released numerous albums and have been associated with labels such as DLV, Ariola Records, and Fonovisa Records.
Throughout their career, Los Barón de Apodaca have maintained a strong connection to their cultural heritage, often incorporating traditional instrumentation into their music.
