Deaf Center

Deaf Center is a Norwegian ambient music duo consisting of Erik K Skodvin and Otto A Totland. Their work blends elements of classical composition with electronic undertones, creating ethereal and haunting soundscapes that have captured the attention of listeners worldwide. Deaf Center's music is largely characterized by a mix of piano, strings, and electronic sounds, meticulously layered to produce a deeply atmospheric and cinematic quality.

Since their formation in the early 2000s, Deaf Center has been influential in the modern classical and ambient music scenes. Their debut album "Pale Ravine" was released in 2005 and set the tone for their signature style, combining melancholic melodies with ambient noise and textural sound design. It was followed by a series of well-received works, including the dramatic and fuller textured "Owl Splinters" in 2011, and "Recount", a two-track EP in 2014 that featured live performances capturing the dynamic range of their sound. The duo continued to evolve their style with the release of "Low Distance" in 2019, showcasing a more organic and improvisational approach. In tandem with their new releases, Deaf Center has revisited and refined earlier work, evidenced by the remaster of their evocative and darkly ambient track "Neon City". Their consistent output and commitment to their craft have secured them a revered place in the milieu of ambient music composers and performers.
