Procol Harum

Procol Harum is an English rock band formed in 1967, renowned for their baroque and classical influence on the progressive and symphonic rock genres. The band achieved their greatest fame with their first single, the haunting hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale," which is a landmark of the era's music with its soulful lyrics and sweeping organ work. Led by singer-songwriter-pianist Gary Brooker, whose distinctive voice and compositions set them apart, the band has undergone numerous lineup changes over the decades, with Brooker and lyricist Keith Reid being the consistent core members.

Over the years, Procol Harum has released a long list of albums that showcase their virtuosic blend of rock, classical elements, and soulful melodies. Their body of work includes titles such as "Shine On Brightly" with its multi-part suite "In Held 'Twas In I," and the live album "Live In Concert With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra," which captured the grandeur of the band performing with a full orchestra. The band's more recent offerings include "Novum" (2017), their twelfth studio album that marked a creative resurgence 50 years after their formation. Even with their rich legacy, Procol Harum continues to evolve and captivate new generations of listeners, proving the timelessness of their music.
