RuthKo

RuthKo was a promising Cambodian rapper known for blending traditional Khmer sounds with contemporary hip-hop. Born in Battambang, Cambodia, he later resided in Phnom Penh. At 17, he joined the renowned KlapYaHandz music label in 2018, becoming one of its youngest members. RuthKo gained widespread recognition for hits like "Change Pt 2" and "Westside," showcasing his ability to fuse Khmer cultural elements with modern hip-hop. He was also multilingual, speaking Khmer, English, and French, which contributed to his versatility as an artist. His music often reflected his life experiences and cultural heritage, earning him a significant following and critical acclaim.

Sadly, RuthKo passed away in a traffic accident in Phnom Penh on January 6, 2025, at the age of 25. Despite his early passing, he left a lasting impact on Cambodia's rap scene and was recognized for his talent and dedication to promoting Cambodian music internationally. His legacy includes collaborations with notable figures and involvement in projects that contributed to the development of the Cambodian music industry.
