Christopher Lillicrap

Christopher Lillicrap is a British television presenter, writer and composer born in Plymouth in 1949 best known for his long career in children’s television and for composing and writing songs for programmes such as Playboard, Numbertime (including the El Nombre strand), Rainbow and Flicks. He began as a secondary-school teacher, moved into repertory theatre, then into TV presenting and songwriting, and later co-wrote many pantomimes and children’s stage shows with his wife Jeanette Ranger; their musical Monty Moonbeam’s Magnificent Mission won the TMA/Martini Award for Best Show for Young People.

In retirement he has continued creating music and releasing albums: he released an 11-track album in 2025 called What Ever Happened To?, and has issued earlier recordings including The Christopher Lillicrap Show (2020). He has lived in Greece in recent years and published a novel, Midas, under the pseudonym Dominic Ranger in 2013.
