Wholesale Klezmer Band

The Wholesale Klezmer Band is a dynamic ensemble dedicated to sharing traditional Eastern European Jewish culture, history, and humor through music. Based in Colrain, Massachusetts, the band features a versatile repertoire that includes old and original wedding dances, liturgical music, children's songs, theater songs, labor songs, and music of the Holocaust. Key members include vocalist Yosl Kurland, a contemporary composer of Yiddish songs known for his role as a wedding badkhn (singer/jester), along with instrumentalists like Christina Crowder on accordion and Michael Suter. Their music is performed in Yiddish and Lashn Koydesh (Ashkenazic Hebrew), making it accessible to English-speaking audiences as well.
