Lluís Coloma is a highly acclaimed pianist from Barcelona, born in 1973, and stands out as one of Spain’s leading blues and boogie-woogie musicians. Coloma started with classical piano training but was quickly drawn to the fiery sounds of Jerry Lee Lewis, Roosevelt Sykes, and Alan Price, sparking a lifelong passion for rock & roll, blues, and boogie-woogie—genres he now masters with a dynamic personal touch. Over the years, he’s racked up awards like “Best Catalan Musician 2003” and “Artista BluesCat 2006,” and he’s recognized for both his original compositions and his electrifying live performances at festivals across Europe and Asia.
For two decades, Coloma has led his own bands—including his trio and “His Musical Troupe”—and has released over ten albums, both as a solo artist and with collaborators. He’s also served as artistic director for the Barcelona Blues Festival and frequently shares his expertise through masterclasses and lectures about blues piano history. With a reputation for powerful, energetic shows and a repertoire ranging from traditional roots to fresh originals, Coloma continues to be a major force in the international blues and boogie-woogie scene.
